261 Exams at the European Campus
For three weeks, the English-language European Campus of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) is a place of intense focus. Across nine degree programs, about 1,500 students must demonstrate what they have learned in 261 exams by the end of July.
Maximum focus is required right now. In the lecture halls at the European Campus, students from five bachelor’s and four master’s programs are working hard on their exam assignments. Their subject knowledge is being tested in four areas: tourism, health/digitalization, energy/technology, and sustainability/construction. The largest written exam is taking place in the “International Tourism Management/Health and Medical Tourism” bachelor’s program on the topic of “Accounting and Controlling.” 79 students are taking the exam.
As always, the written exams are the main focus. “But oral exams and the timely submission of research papers are also part of the requirements,” explains Birgit Espertshuber, department head at the local study center. “In addition to academic training, there is a special emphasis on teaching German language skills,” says Dean Prof. Dr. Christian Steckenbauer. The corresponding language exams took place in advance. After the exams, students will have to be patient until August 17, when grades will be announced.
