As a dual study programme student, you become part of a company right from the start. Immerse yourself in various work areas, learning directly from experienced specialists. This hands-on experience not only lets you apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting but also enhances your career prospects and takeover opportunities, all while getting a salary.

Deggendorf Institute of Technology, offers two flexible study models: the combined degree programme and the degree programme with in-depth practical experience. Each of our Bachelor's degree programmes can be tailored to fit one of these models. Our team is here to guide you individually, helping you find the perfect degree programme and company match.

Current Information & Events

Are you about to graduate from high school, are you motivated and determined? You would like to study, but "just" studying is too theoretical for you? With a dual study programme at DIT you can combine theory with a lot of practice. The dual models offer you many advantages.

Both, combined studies and studies with in-depth practical experience, are basically possible in every degree programme and with every company.

Joint Studies & Studies with In-Depth Practice

Joint Studies - Bachelor

Here the study at the university is combined with a vocational training (with IHK/HWK degree) in a training company.

This example shows you how a combined study program can proceed over time.

The following types of contract are offered by the chambers of commerce (IHK or HWK):

Studies with In-Depth Practice - Bachelor

The studies at the university are combined with intensive practical phases during the semester break and the practical semester in a company.

This example shows you how a course of study with in-depth practical experience can work out.

It is also possible to complete the master's degree as a course of study with in-depth practical experience. You can also find further information at hochschule-dual.de (in German).

Studies with In-Depth Practice - Master

The dual Master's programme lasts 1.5 years (3 semesters) full-time and is organised as a study programme with in-depth practical experience (practice-integrating). Students spend at least 34 weeks (or at least half of the standard period of study) in the company, mainly during the semester break and during the time during the Master's thesis, which is the highlight and conclusion of the course.

This example shows how a dual Master's programme can be organised.

Depending on the course of study, studies can start in the summer and winter semester. Apply now.

In cooperation with the organisation hochschule dual we offer you a list of companies that offer the dual study program and already cooperate with the Deggendorf Institute of Technology.

You can't find your dream company in the list? You are welcome to apply on your own initiative to the companies of your choice for one of the models. Also use the training exchanges of the IHK / HKW and the job advertisements in the press / online portals for your search.

In this video, one of the more than 120 partners in the dual study program, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, uses the example of mechanical engineering to show how the combination of theory and practice works.

The Coordination Office for Dual Studies at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
